Taiwan Vacation

Hi Everyone! Here we are in Taiwan! Can't believe it. We are having a wonderful time. I am still trying to figure out where I am and somethings are beginning to look familiar to me. Dad is doing much better at figuring out where he is than I am, but that is pretty normal.

So far, we have been to see an active volcano (steam vents only) gone on the high speed train, gone on a ferry (very short ride), walked through lots of crowded streets, went to a Lantern Festival (the last night), went to a museum, and a martyr's shrine and watched the changing of the guard, and we also went to the zoo to see the new pandas that were donated by China. We have been very busy and on the go everyday.

The highspeed train was an adventure. I managed to fall on the escalator and hurt my knee, blood and swelling. I have several bruises on my leg and ankle. I feel very stupid. The best part is that Dad hurt himself too because he tripped on a step and bruised his arm (they have a step you have to go up and over into the bathrooms here to keep away evil spirits or something, they are annoying). So he feels stupid too!

The weather here has been nice. It has been warm, much better than the freezing weather at home. We have actually been hot on a couple of days. It has cooled off today but it is still nice out and we don't really need to take a jacket with us.

I am glad that we came. I am still scared sometimes but I am glad that I am here.
